FCC Form 471 includes New Data Reporting Requirements
The revised version of Form 471 requires that applicants provide substantially more information on the type, number, and speeds of their Internet connections. The revised Form 471 adds a requirement that applicants provide detailed data circuit information for each FRN involving internet access services, including cellular data.
We recommend that all applicants review the new data collection requirements as soon as possible. Completing the new table correctly may require applicants to obtain line speed data from their service providers. We expect all applications that do not contain this data to receive an SLD review.
These new broadband data collection requirements highlight our strong recommendation that applicants file 2014 E-Rate Forms 470 and 471 as early as possible.
